While checking inter-state movement at Mannar bridge, vehicle bearing registration TN20 SJ 1453 was intercepted. The driver could not produce valid permits. On search, 173 litres of non-duty-paid liquor in 21 cartons recovered. Vehicle and consignment seized. Driver and conductor taken into custody.

While checking inter-state movement at NH40 Pakala junction, vehicle bearing registration OR05 WE 7460 was intercepted. The driver could not produce valid permits. On search, 331 litres of non-duty-paid liquor in 30 cartons recovered. Vehicle and consignment seized. Driver and conductor taken into custody.

Surveillance led to the identification of a clandestine storage at Repalle. Search yielded 385 litres of liquor without valid permit documentation, stored in a private godown attached to a residential property. Two persons arrested. Investigation continues to identify the supply chain.

Inspection conducted at retail outlet ES Srikakulam 03 Bar in Srikakulam based on routine compliance schedule. Found 379 litres of duty-paid liquor in excess of permitted stock with discrepancies in maintenance of stock register. Show-cause notice issued; case registered under permit violation provisions.

Acting on credible information, raid was conducted at Gudur village in Srikakulam district. Discovered an illicit distillation unit operating in a thatched shed behind the residence. Seized 138 litres of unfermented wash, 57 kg of jaggery and approximately 90 kg of molasses kept for fermentation. The chimney structure had been concealed under coconut fronds. 4 persons taken into custody for further enquiry.
